Congresswoman Susie Lee Visits Las Vegas Koreatown, Engages with Korean American Small Business Owners

수지 리 연방 하원의원, 라스베이거스 코리아타운 방문… 한인 소상공인들과 소통

Susie Lee(이하 수지 리) 연방 하원의원이 지난 7월 7일 라스베이거스 코리아타운을 방문해 지역 한인 소상공인들과 만남의 시간을 가졌다. 이번 방문은 라스베이거스 한인회의 안내로 진행됐으며, 코리아타운 내의 다양한 업종의 스몰 비즈니스를 돌아보고, 오너들이 사업 운영 과정에서 겪는 어려움과 지역 경제 활성화를 위한 의견을 공유하는 시간을 가졌다. 참석자들은 소상공인 지원 정책, 지역 안전, 경제 환경 개선 등 현장의 목소리를 전달했으며, 수지 리 의원은 이를 경청하고 연방 차원에서 지속적인 관심과 지원을 이어가겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 지역사회와 연방정부 간 소통을 강화하고, 코리아타운을 비롯한 Spring Mountain Corrior의 지역 상권의 발전과 소상공인 경쟁력 강화를 위한 협력 방안을 모색하는 의미 있는 자리로 평가됐다.

수지 리 의원은 네바다주 제 3선거구를 대표하는 연방 하원의원으로, 초당적 협력을 바탕으로 소상공인 지원, 주택 가격 안정, 의료비 부담 완화, 인프라 투자 및 경제 활성화 등을 주요 의정 과제로 추진해 왔다. 이번 선거에서도 생활비 부담 완화와 중산층 및 소상공인 지원, 양질의 일자리 창출, 의료 접근성 확대를 핵심 공약으로 내세우며 네바다 주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 중점을 두고 있다.

Congresswoman Susie Lee visited Las Vegas Korea Town on July 7 to meet with Korean American small business owners. The visit was coordinated by the Las Vegas Korean American Association. During her visit, Rep. Lee toured a variety of small businesses throughout Korea Town and met with business owners and customers to discuss the challenges facing local businesses and opportunities to strengthen the local economy.

Small Business owners and customers shared concerns regarding small business support, public safety, and economic development. Rep. Lee listened to their perspectives and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting local communities and small businesses at the federal level.

The visit highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration between the local community and federal leaders. It also underscored shared efforts to support the continued growth of Koreatown and the broader Spring Mountain Corridor while strengthening the region's small business community.

Rep. Susie Lee represents Nevada's 3rd Congressional District. Throughout her time in Congress, she has worked across party lines to support small businesses, improve housing affordability, lower healthcare costs, invest in infrastructure, and strengthen the economy. Her current campaign priorities include reducing the cost of living, supporting middle-class families and small businesses, creating quality jobs, and expanding access to affordable healthcare.
